Cultivating to higher level in the Universe

Picture: Nine Chakras of man (drawn based on teaching of Prof.Dich-Van Van Quang (HUGO HAMA) Buddha)

You may wondering what does it mean and why do you need to cultivate to higher level? The below is teaching of Prof.Dich -Van Van Quang (HUGO HAMA) Buddha collated by the author.

What is cultivating to higher level?

Once you have understood what is the self (read here) and the Law of Spirit of the Universe (read here), you will immediately see that every man has the obligation to cultivate to develop our self or the Astral man inside us. So cultivating to higher level is to cultivate for this self to elevate to higher levels in the Universe, to gradually go up to higher levels in clockwise direction as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1: Levels in the invisible space

Each level has a distinctive energy field. This energy field increases in clockwise direction, in which Troi level (or Universe Thien Linh) has the highest energy field. So it is said that the further going clockwise, the higher level. A Rough man or Astral man cultivating to increase Cong power to attain supernatural power of these levels is called cultivating to higher level.

In Figure 1, the lowest De level is the level of lay Rough men, the Astral, who is our self, will dwell here when we died. Man’s Cong power corresponding to which space level, the Astral will automatically fly up to and dwell in that level when we died. Men in the lower level cannot fly up to the higher levels because they are too heavy. Up to the level of Phat To Nhu Lai (Buddha leader of FOGHY, for example, Shakyamuni LANTIG Buddha, or Van Van Quang Buddha) is considered the highest, the superman. As of the present time, there is only one Upper Buddha in the whole Universe attained this level. Troi is the Creator, not in any specific human form, but is the highest, the Supreme Power of the Universe.

What is liberation?

Liberation means freeing from persecuted mind. The persecuted mind is the inner mind that is tormented by bad habits: Greed-Hatred-Delusion. These are the three bad habits we create ourselves that torment our inner mind throughout our lives. The persecuted mind is created by ourselves, so we have to remove it ourselves, no one can help us.

    Greed here is greed for money, for reputation, for position and power, for concupiscence etc. These are the mediocre ambitions of Rough men, leading to moral decadence. To cultivate, you should be determined to eliminate step by step these greed in order to improve your morality.

    Hatred is having a mind always resentment of others. To get rid of it, you have to learn to forgive other people.

    Delusion is delusive and dull, blindly believe in religion. For eliminating Delusion, you should study hard to improve your knowledge.

   Greed-Hatred-Delusion leads us to a selfish, jealous and envy life, living in disagreement with people, making moral decayed that easily leads to wrongdoing. All these bad things make us not to be able to cultivate.

     For eliminating Greed-Hatred-Delusion, we have to practice the body and mind to gradually wear down the mind of Greed-Hatred-Delusion, to turn it into kind-hearted mind. Only cultivation can solve this. To cultivate, you should learn to detach.

What is detachment?

It is the way we eliminate ambition for material mediocrity in life in the physical space to care for the lofty spiritual life; that is, to practice to gradually eliminate Greed-Hatred-Delusion.

It is not easy to achieve detachment quickly that’s why it is said “to learn to detach”, i.e. to detach gradually. Detachment does not mean renouncing everything. You are a residential Rough man cultivator, you still have to work to earn money for living, to support yourself and family members; but not because of greed for money so that you make money at any cost. The money you are using should not be the dirty money gotten by stealing or cheating. As a man, you have to have sex, but should not have sex indiscriminately. You are living with people in the workplace or in the neighborhood or with friends, learn to live with them humanely. Then you should read and learn every day for improving knowledge. And only then you can escape from delusion. You are doing so means you are gradually eliminating Greed-Hatred-Delusion. That is you are detaching.

How to cultivate to higher level?

To get to higher level you have to have high Cong power. This is the physical energy of the body, measured in Bovis unit. To improve your Cong power, you must cultivate kind-heartedness and Tu Cong Phap. You can cultivate in pagodas, in church or at home. To have high Cong power you have to practise an exercise called “Tu Cong Phap” (Cong Phap Cultivation), also called Sincere One-minded Cultivating and Cong Phap Practice, shortly called Cultivating. A lay man without Cultivating is given by Troi a Cong Power of around 14 to 16 thousand Bovis. It is a sufficient Cong Power for living and working normally. When died, the lay man’s Astral will return to De level shown in Figure 1. If you Cultivate to more than 40,000 Bovis, when died, you are a Deity (worshiped at home by people) and go to Than Linh (Deity) level, higher than De level. Having attained Cong power over 115 thousand Bovis, you are already a Than Linh (Lord worshiped in pagoda or the God in communal house) and will go to Tien Than (Divinity) level etc. So on, if you cultivate well in an incarnation you can elevate to higher levels as shown in Table 1.

Table 1 shows that in the present life, if you came down from the High Buddha level, you can cultivate to attain 1,200 to 6,160 billion Bovis, elevate up to the High Buddha level 1 to 6. When you died, your Astral will fly to High Buddha level scale as shown in Figure 1. In this incarnation, if you came down from De level, you can cultivate to attain maximum of over one billion Bovis, to attain La Han (Arhat) level, i.e. attained enlightenment. For further higher level (Buddha and High Buddha and Upper Buddha) you need to come down to the physical space for many future incarnations.

What is Cong Phap Cultivation?

It is Sincere One-minded Cultivation and Cong Phap Practice.

    + Sincere One-minded Cultivation is the process where one determined oneself to follow a certain cultivating sect of certain religion for whole his life.

If you cultivate Buddhism you should one-mindedly follow the teaching of the Buddha. Only cultivating Buddhism and not being distracted by any other religious sect is called sincere one-minded cultivation or Sincere Buddhism cultivation. Or if you cultivate Three Daos (Troism, Buddhism, Emperorism) then it is called Sincere Three Daos cultivation. Three Daos are essentially only one cultivating sect, not three separate sects. That is cultivation following Troi Supreme Power sect. Only by sincere one-minded cultivating we can increase our Cong Power. You can cultivate following either Troism (Three Daos), Buddhism, Saintism (saint-worshiping sect), or other religious sects such as Islam, Tantrism, Yoga etc. but follow only one sect. Cultivating many sects at the same time is called chaotic cultivation. Such cultivation cannot progress.

Whichever sect you want to cultivate, your mind must be determined decisively and clearly, so it is called Cultivation is in mind. That means your mind must determine itself to cultivate Buddhism (or any other sect), and will be persevering in pursuing only this one sect. Cultivating here does not mean you have to pledge and live in pagoda, temple or church, but you can practice at home. It means that you can continue living an ordinary life whilst always remember that you are cultivating your mind. You also do not need to chant or read the Buddhism sutra daily at home or at pagoda.

Cong Phap Practice  is the process where you need to practice Cong Phap Exercise taught by Su Phu (Master) every day. The exercise allows attraction of universal energy into the body to increase the body’s Cong Power. You need to have Su Phu to guide this exercise so to increase Cong Power. That is why it is called “Cong is by Su Phu”. At the beginning you should attend a class guided by Su Phu and then persistently practice this exercise for the rest of your life. Experience of some classes has shown that, after about 3 months of practicing, most of students can increase the body’s Cong Power from 13-15 thousand to above 500-600 thousand Bovis, equivalent to a psychic practitioner of low level.

Thus, the process of cultivation comprises of 2 parts: Cultivating Mind and Practicing Cong. In cultivating, you need to determine to practice toward Sincere One-minded Cultivation, whilst practicing Cong depends on the help of Su Phu. That is why it is called Cultivating is in Mind, Cong is by Su Phu. Practicing persistently, you will gradually increase body’s Cong Power to elevate to the higher in 13 levels mentioned in Figure 1.

During cultivating mind and practicing Cong, the importance should be placed on the process (of cultivation), but not on target (the destination). Once having determined persistent long-term cultivation, what comes will come, no need to long for it.

Why did Troi create the Rough men?

That is the way of Troi to create for each Astral man a Body as a means to cultivate in the physical space thus to elevate himself at a faster rate.

Because in the physical space, Rough men have to labour for food, so they have to find every way for food to eat for subsistence. Under these conditions, those who can keep their kind-heartedness and love for others, and live for the community, are the ones who deserve to be promoted. On the contrary, one who just lives in materialistic mediocrity, becomes a decadent person, will need to be purified. So if you refuse to cultivate, you have wasted this opportunity Troi gave to you.

Requirements for cultivator

For being able to cultivate, you need to determine Sincere One-mined Cultivation and Cong Phap Practice as mentioned above. All attachments, ambitions, jealousies, and envies etc. should be eliminated step by step to become a person of Chan- Thien-Nhan (Truth-Goodness-Forbearance). Do not long for the fast increase of Cong Power as well. Cultivation is just cultivation. There is no need to know how fast Cong Power increases, but it certainly will increase. In practicing Cong Phap every day, you need to do one exercise for increasing body’s Cong Power and then sit meditating to absorb universal energy into the body and receive Cong power transferred to you by Su Phu. Each time for about 15 minutes. This should be persistently practiced throughout your life.

Meditation

Meditation is the word describing Rough man sitting in tranquil state for receiving universal energy into the body.

Meditation first helps our body to rest. Rest is a necessity in the operation of man’s life. Without rest, our energy will be exhausted. When we sleep, our body is resting, our internal organs are working calmly, but our mind is still flying around; we still think about all kinds of things. Only Meditation can give us a real break which means relieving the stress of the body and mind through a day of work and thinking. When meditating in the state of deep concentration, our Mind is set free from thoughts, the energy centers of the body (chakras and main acupoints) will be purified, accumulated and converted of energy at maximum force, the meridian system is clear and smooth. So Meditation first gives us health. In the long run, Meditation helps us to open up man’s special supernatural powers, to bring us to perceiving of ourselves, to lead our Astral into the feeling space that we cannot reach in ordinary life. For Cong Phap practitioners who have guidance of Su Phu, meditating is also the time for receiving Cong power transferred from Su Phu to increase their Cong Power. So meditation is unavoidable.

When meditating, we should sit still, best in the lotus posture (two legs crossed so that two feet are set on two thighs, two knees touching the ground). However, it is not easy for ordinary people to sit in lotus posture. Therefore, it is acceptable to sit in half-lotus posture (only one foot on the thigh) or sit in the natural cross-legged posture. Sitting in natural cross-legged posture has a weakness that the knees cannot touch the ground, so the sitting posture is not firm, easy to get tired. To increase ground-touching, you can use a cotton pillow putting under the butt. You can also meditate on a chair. But it is best to touch the ground. The requirement when sitting is the backbone must be straight upright. So we have to sit with our back and neck straight upright. Eyes are half-closed (not completely closed), look inward. Two hands can be placed facing up on the knees, the tips of the index finger and thumb connected (Vo Minh An position). Or, place your right hand over your left palm facing up (Connecting position), for male, left hand on top, for female right hand on top, or either hand on top, at your comfort (see Figure 2).

Figure 2– Meditation Posture (illustrated by Pham Thanh Ha)

While sitting in meditation, the hardest is how to not get into drowsy (sleepy) and chaotic stages (our mind is thinking of everything). To overcome these two stages, our mind must concentrate deeply into the middle of the chest, at Dan Trung charka as shown in Figure 2. Then breathe very gently. As such, sitting quietly, looking inward, listening inside, will lead us into a state of preliminary  meditation. Until when we do not see, do not hear, but our mind is still awake, then that is the moment we have entered the stage of deep meditation (samadhi).

Practicing meditation requires persistence, no impatience, no hope of fast opening of supernatural powers or seeing the Buddhas or Deities. Just sit meditating naturally, relaxed, serenely. Once our mind no longer cares about the surrounding is the moment we reached the First-staged meditation. Readers who can reach this stage of meditation will definitely become healthier, disease will be reduced.

For the skilled cultivators, after the first stage of meditation will come to the realm of the second-staged meditation, then to the third-staged meditation, away from every coarse pleasure, away from all thoughts. In the realm of the fourth-staged meditation, our mind is in a state of hibernation, breathing as lightly as no breathing, and the body is being purified intensively. This is the state of deep meditation (Samadhi). Cong Phap practitioners after a period of regular practice can reach this state a few minutes after sitting in meditation.

Meditation can be in sitting posture or lying posture. It is called Static Meditation. It is possible to either meditate in walking or working. That is called Moving Meditation.

If you practice meditation every day, after a period of time you will see changes in your appearance; health is improved, and pain caused by disease becomes less. But diseases must be treated; it is not possible to cure disease just only by Meditating.

Note:

When meditating, you should avoid the following:

  • Sitting in meditation without letting go of the job;
  • Sitting in tight or unsettled posture, not comfortable;
  • Unloosen muscles and bones without release;
  • Trying to breathe unnaturally;
  • Meditating with hope to be opened, to see the Buddha.
